This is the story of my life and I write it (almost)everyday.

Mentholatum Deep Moist‏

Mentholatum Deep Moist‏! I believe the name of this product is called "Deep Moist" indeed very cliché.
Japanese can came up with beautiful and ergonomic packaging design can't they think of a better name than this?
Anyway. Here's my view about the "new" (new in SG, it was launched in 2008 in Japan and has seen tremendous success and popularity there.)

What's so special about this lip balm you might asked?
Well, I was drawn to the cute design at first. Look at how small it is! (Around the size of my index finger)
To be honest, I've never seen such an elegant balm (I'm a balm-freak 'cos my lip cracks like crazy, it was an old ganny's lip).

Girls, this is THE balm that you can just throw it in your clutch and still able to close it!
Besides, the actives ingredients are Hyaluronic Acid & Avocado Oil that deeply moisturizes and repairs cracked lips.

This oval-shaped design fits the corner of my mouth so well unlike the typical lip balms in the market that are too big to fit and often "accidentally" brush onto my skin.

*I forgot to change to a higher resolution for cropping -___-*

Anyways, here's the comparison of before/after.
Cracked dry lip (before applying)

After applying (1 layer)

After letting it settle, I applied another layer. Fine lines are somewhat gone, lip seems a bit more moist as compared to the first picture. Less deadly?
The downside of this is that the effect wears off pretty quickly, maybe 2 hours the most?
Other than that.... I think it's more or less reasonable for the an affordable balm.

What's your view on it?

Hada Labo Whitening Lotion New Nano Formula (Part2)

To start off, I am really grateful that Elfaine from EK Media still willing to send me beauty products to review/try when I'm already starting to neglect this space. Also, everything came so fast, straight after my exams I've few products laying there.
Hopefully I can squeeze in my Korea Travelogue in between too. Heh. It's been a year (I KNOW!!)

Next, if you've noticed, this is my second bottle from them already! (Oh, and I've never bought anything from Hada Labo before... all sponsored! Okay maybe except the water-based remover my mom got me. Yes, grateful x2 :D )

Lately, I'm really into whitening products/ skincare so as to "fade off" my acne scars and even out my skin tone. Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Range gives 3 benefits in one step (PERFECT for lazy people like me). With Arbutin, Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid, it allows to moist, brighten and whiten the skin!

Vitamin C
Helps to enhance skin's fairness and repairs dry, dull skin due to UV and pollutions. Applying vitamin C to the skin daily can do wonders for keeping one’s youthful appearance for life!
If I've to choose one vitamin, it would definitely be Vitamin C! *Sidetrack a bit* I even have the Vitamin C Facial Radiance Capsules from Bodyshop, my face feels so darn smooth after applying it! (But it's freaking expensive, so I'll stick to Hada Labo for now)

Arbutin
An extract from natural bearberry plant...bearberry? This is what I got from the internet.
"Bearberry extract is made from the leaves of the bearberry plant. It is commonly used as an astringent in cosmetic preparations and skin care products. Astringents are cleansers that remove dirt and oil from the skin's pores. It is also used as a lightening agent to fade freckles or skin discoloration which may be caused by sun damage or hormonal conditions."
And Bearberry plant looks like this.

Image from google.

Hada Labo Whitening Lotion contains no additives, colourant, alcohol, fragrances and mineral oils

And other plus point for them as they're super absorbent, without any sticky feeling or leaving residue behind.

2 weeks ago, my face went haywired and started to peel like mad, even the corners of my mouth ):

I wet my cotton pads with Hada Labo Whitening Lotion and placed it on the flaking areas for around 15 mins The after effect was so good, immediately my skin was soft and no longer flaking (I am seriously amazed by that). From that day onwards, this double up as my remedy for dry flaking patches around my skin. (You know how much I hated that 'cos makeup cant apply smoothly)

Miracle Bio Water from Bio-Essence

Hey guys! It's 2013!! (Right, I should hide myself in shame. I promise I will be back on track soon k! Gonna blog about my 2012 favourites Heehee so excited just thinking about that 'cos I've LOTS of favourites. I.am.greedy.like.that)

Anyway I believe you've alr seen or heard the Bio-Essence's new launch, which (obviosuly) is the BIO Spring water.
Just in case if some of you are still have no clues on what I'm talking about. Here's the tvc (by Linda Chung, a famous Hong Kong actress) you might  wanna talk a look at.

The breakthrough in Bio-Esssence Spring Water is the 1) Low in mineral content, 2) Rich in trace mineral, 3) Low in sodium chloride.

The fact that our body needs a small amount of trace minerals and the recommended dietary allowance averages between 0.2 milligrams and 15 milligrams per day, depending on the mineral.

Types of Trace Minerals include:
  • Iron
  • Zinc
  • Copper
  • Selenium
  • Molybdenum
  • Manganese
  • Fluoride
  • Iodine
  • Chromium
  • Lithium

Out of them, the top 4 are the most important and Bio-Essence Bio Spring Water contains Copper (0.070), Zinc (0.016), Lithium (0.003), Molybdenum (<0 .001="" and="" iron="" p="">
Also, low in mineral content creates lesser energy and heat which is ideal for cooling and soothing sensitive/ irritable skin!

To put the Miracle Water to test, I have here with me my extremely-itchy-mosquito-bite, all red and swollen ):
*All photos are genuine and no photoshopping was done accept filters(:*

Hold the bottle at a distance from targeted area and spray, pat it dry after spray.
Normally I do not pat after I sprayed it with my makeup on, let it dry which leaves your skin feeling less cakey I suppose?

The picture below shows how the bite looked like immediately after I sprayed.

5 mins later

You can see that it wasn't as red as before, it somehow helped to reduce the redness.

I went on to do my work, surf the net, watching youtube vids...

Went back to check on it and omg ( not trying to exaggerate, this is after... 15 - 30 mins? ) the redness subside drastically, I mean, come on seriously don't you just wanna give this little thing a hug?!

And YUP. Proof of Bio-Essence Bio Spring Water is not ordinary spring water, definitely not tap water (not sure which ignorant brat claims it to be one.)

Invest in 1 bottle can go a long long way. You can use it from head to toe, top to bottom!
  • Hair (checked)Face (checked)
  • All over body, including butt. LOL. (checked)
  • Legs (checked)
Still not convinced enough? Don't be!
I am giving away a brand new travel sized Bio-Essence Bio Spring Water to my lucky readers to try how amazing it is. Try it before investing in the 300ml bottle.

Simply leave a comment with your name and email address, and tell us why you want to win the Bio-Essence Bio Spring Water!

*All comments will be screened for my readers privacy

Biore Facial Foam (Improvement!)

Biore recently launch the newly improved facial foam that cater to suit all skin type!
I wanted to blog about it before the launch date (which was 3rd Jan btw)
But... pfftttt I was lazy busy. Hahaha

So, what's so special about the new Biore cleanser?
It is the first cleanser that supports and boost skin’snatural ability to self-renew!

I tried the Biore Facial Foam Scrub, unlike the typical scrub it has the new Skin Purifying Technology and pink ultra fine beads. Yes it's pink beads, lol. Plus there's a really nice floral scent to it.
I like how the beads are small and gentle enough that it didn't irritate my problematic skin.

Second item I received was the Biore Facial Foam (acne care), a foamy cleanser.
READ: Non comedogenic (I believe most ppl with acne-prone skin would like this word.)Using a small amount of it covered my entire face (I would suggest a small amount of it)

If I've to choose something I dislike about this product, it would be the after feeling of cleansing.
Probably 'cos I'm used to really mild cleanser (non soapy) from maple clinic.
That's from my personal point of view though, what works for me doesn't mean it will works for you and same goes the other way round.

Overall, Biore Facial Foam is good for everyday use. However if you have very sensitive skin, I would recommend you use it gently, and probably not everyday.
If you're looking for a daily cleanser, this is something you might wanna give it a try!

Seche Base & Northern Lights Hologram Top Coat “Gold”

Happy holiday! December gotta be my favourite month ever! I stop working since the beginning of Dec and have been busy playing "happy street" on my phone. It's a happy Christmas game, alright, I love any thing related to Christmas and I can't wait for the party on that day itself (:

I came across this lovely top coat while shopping at Scape underground flea(?) No idea what the place is called though.
What caught my attention was the word "Hologram". I loveeeeee all holographic nail polish but sad to say I don't own any good quality holographic nail polish except "Worth The Risque" by Color Club.
I am still lusting over China Glaze discontinued "OMG".

At first glance, it appears to contain nothing but clear lacquer.

And at the bottom, pretty holo glitters. ( You're suppose to shake it before using by the way)

And you shook it, micro glitter sparkling, all blended with the clear lacquer. Sparkling sparkling! All ready for Christmas season!

As the bottle stated, dries in seconds blended with America's #1 Out The Door Top Coat (Fast Drying)
I love how fast it dries however, it doesn't gives a very shiny finish unlike the real top coat.

I applied it over my old red polish that was on me for a few days just to show you the holographic effect. Too lazy to repaint it lol.
I can assure you that it looks pretty good over a dark polish!
There's also a silver version of it too, for ya info (: It's worth check it out(:

I also bought my first base coat from them. A really nice, inexpensive base coat that keep my nails getting stained.
However, it feels really thick. Idk if it's only me, like some polishes are better off without base. Am I making any sense here?

I've never tried any other base before and I think this does its job! And it looked just like any other OPI base too ( the color)
